Can you find what’s inside? 🍎🍉🥑
This handmade Whole & Sliced Fruit & Veggie Matching Game helps young children recognize familiar foods in different forms. Instead of simply matching two identical pictures, children match the whole fruit or vegetable to its cut-open version, adding an extra layer of visual recognition, reasoning, and real-world learning.
The set includes 10 matching pairs / 20 cards total, featuring beautifully illustrated watercolor produce with no text or distracting graphics.
INCLUDES 10 MATCHING PAIRS:
Watermelon
Apple
Orange
Lemon
Kiwi
Avocado
Tomato
Peach
Strawberry
Pumpkin
Each pair includes:
1 whole produce card + 1 sliced/open produce card
For example, children match the whole avocado to the avocado half, the whole apple to its cut-open apple, or the whole watermelon to the watermelon slice.

WHY WHOLE + SLICED MATCHING?
Children often see foods in very different forms. An apple on the counter may look completely different once it has been cut open, and a watermelon slice looks nothing like the large green fruit it came from.
Matching the two forms encourages children to understand that they are still the same food, even when their appearance changes.
This activity can support:
• Visual discrimination
• Memory and concentration
• Object recognition
• Food vocabulary
• Categorization
• Cognitive flexibility
• Matching and association skills
• Problem-solving
• Fine motor development
• Attention and focus
The cards can also be useful for autism learning activities, ADHD-friendly hands-on learning, speech therapy, special education, preschool, Montessori-inspired learning and homeschool activities.
WAYS TO PLAY
For beginners, place several whole-food cards on one side and their sliced versions on the other and let your child find the matches.
For a harder activity, mix all 20 cards together.
You can also turn the cards face down and use them as a memory game, name each food as it is found, sort fruits versus vegetables, or talk about what each food looks like before and after it is cut.
Start with only 2–3 pairs for younger toddlers and gradually add more as their confidence grows.
ARTWORK
Each card features soft watercolor-style artwork against a clean background so children can focus on the food itself.
The illustrations intentionally show the produce in different forms rather than duplicating the exact same picture, making this a more challenging and meaningful matching activity than a standard identical-picture memory game.
CARE
Wipe clean with a damp cloth as needed.
Do not soak or place in a dishwasher.
Because each set is handmade, very slight variations may occur.
